What we believe

The foundation determines the ceiling.

Most businesses do not fail from lack of effort. They fail because the foundation underneath them was never properly built — the structure, the credit, the readiness, the tax position — and every later problem traces back to it.

Our position

Advisory, deliberately narrow in scope

Scale House advises founders through five stages, in order: structure, credit, capital, tax and scale. That is the whole scope, and it is deliberately narrow.

We are not a lender, a broker, an investment adviser, a law firm, an accounting practice or a tax practice. We do not lend, arrange or place capital, and we do not guarantee funding, credit, approvals or financial outcomes. Where a question belongs with a licensed professional, we say so and work alongside them.

What we do is assess where a business actually stands, set out in writing what should happen and in what order, and work alongside the founder while it is put in place.

Why the order matters

Business credit built on the wrong entity has to be rebuilt. Capital pursued without readiness gets declined, or accepted on poor terms. Tax decisions made after the fact cost more than they needed to. Growth added to a weak structure multiplies the weakness.

Worked in sequence, each stage makes the next one possible. That is the entire method.

Principles

What we hold to

Order over urgency

The stages are worked in sequence. Skipping ahead is what leaves businesses exposed later.

Honesty early

If the foundation is not there, we say so before anything else is discussed.

Structure before growth

Revenue on a weak structure creates risk, not progress.

In writing

Assessments and plans are written down, so nothing important is left implied.

Fit matters more than fee

If your constraint sits outside what we do, we will say so and, where we can, point you somewhere better. Submitting an application creates no obligation on either side.
